A new species of has been found by accident! Bob Foster had been collecting the opalised (shimmering, colourful) fossils for 30 years, not realising what they were until a museum analysed them. The dino is now named after him 🦕

Walking with Dinosaurs 👣🦕 Formed when sediments fill a footprint made in softer material. The footprint is fossilised and later revealed after the surrounding material is eroded away.

the first named hadrosauroid taxon from Asia that is still valid, Tanius sinensis is quite an oddball, and pretty tall too. Fairly basal for its young geological age Among the first in line for my Wangshi project

It is a 100-million-year-old fossilized footprint found by Chinese and American scientists at Maling Mountain, E China’s Jiangsu. The footprint had been mistaken for a tiger in local folklore.
