I'm sorry for saying this but why does it take the death of a "famous" person for the PM to release more funds into cancer treatment and research. I am sure "normal" people who have died might have benefited from it?

RIP Tessa. Deepest condolences to her family🙏 I lost my brother to the same cancer last year. It is such a cruel disease. She was a wonderful lady and her achievements will not be forgotten.

So sad to wake up to the news of Dame Tessa Jowell's death. She lived with her cancer with such bravery. Amongst many achievements, she helped to bring the 2012 Olympics to London.
