Two important notes: 1. Trump did sign into law 2018's bipartisan First Step Act that modestly addresses reform 2. Trump's party appears to have little interest in addressing root causes of our criminal justice failures.

Here’s the thing - Trump did NOT get criminal justice reform done. These policies have been years in the making with people from both parties working tirelessly. He can take credit for signing a paper - not fighting for change.
