Higher-res shot as the Pine Gulch Fire roared to life once again in the hills north of Grand Junction yesterday. A dramatic 'erupting' Pyrocumulus photograph like this has been on my bucket list for a while. Wishing safe operations to all working this event.

This epic thunderstorm was one of the more intense ones I've experienced in a while! I came across this on my way to chase Comet NEOWISE. I utilized 8 30 sec frames for four mins of exposure time, in other words, this ridiculous amount of lighting happened in a hurry!

Thunderstorms over southeast CO yesterday produced a tornado(s) east of La Junta around 00Z. From a satellite perspective, storm tops were very cold (to -88C!) and very active (numerous overshooting tops and persistent above anvil cirrus plumes). GOES-East 1-min VIS/IR.

It's 1am and no one will see this till tomorrow, but what a sight. Nightfall as the Pine Gulch Fire glows red on the horizon. Taken 100 yards from my front door above Grand Junction CO. Loaded these onto my computer at midnight & have been in awe ever since!

June 19th we waited patiently for a storm to come off the mountains west of Trinidad, Colorado…and once it did, the structure slowly came in and it turned into a gorgeous supercell.
