Just finished doing my to-do list project. The hardest thing to do was to put up the delete function (for me). For learning concepts , I used youtube videos on node and build it myself as his videos used Jquery xD.

Beginners often complain that Eloquent JavaScript is way too harder. On the other hand You Don't Know JS is a fantastic, in depth look at JS inner workings but newbies might not be interested in creeping into the JS spec straight away
