If you’ve never had to make a journey like this, it’s because of only one thing. Luck. Beyond the headlines, labels and political posturing, every person making these desperate journeys is a human being who deserves respect, compassion and safety.

When governments fail to help, volunteers step up. We know charity alone is never enough - but in what can feel like dark times, the store is one way to help provide the support our governments are failing to around the world. ⁣⁣ ❤️

I don’t want people thinking the principal’s office is a bad place to visit. It gets lonely in here. So I went out and bought some fancy chocolates. Nobody visited yesterday. I ate 4. This backfired.

A whole life split from his parents after being unable to return to his country devastated by war. Arriving in England with no language skills. Granted asylum. Given a chance. This is why all refugees should be treated with dignity.

I can safely say in 29 years of living that behind marriage and the birth of my children, today has been one of the most anticipated days of my life. I LOVE seeing my students! Wear a mask, maintain distance, DON'T MESS THIS UP! WE CAN DO IT!!!!!

Proud to be from a family of refugees. My dad as an unaccompanied child was taken in by strangers in Kent who answered an ad from his parents. He came to the UK by boat. Most relatives who didn't manage to flee here were murdered.
