The Crescent at designed by born architect John Carr (1723-1807). The image featured on a 1909 postcard. The Crescent was built for the Fifth Duke of Devonshire between 1780 and 1789. It is one of my favourite Carr designs.

YOU WOULDN'T SWIM IN A POOL OF BLEACH! The so called 'Blue Lagoon' is toxic, with a PH similar to bleach & ammonia - even if not bright blue anymore 💀 Visiting the disused quarry is trespassing and dangerous! STAY AWAY, STAY SAFE!

Buxton, BLM nice socially distanced peaceful protest. if you agree or disagree it doesn't matter everyone should have there voice heard and have the opportunity to express how they feel. Listen and be considerate.

We can't make this any clearer; quarries are dangerous! Especially Harpur Hill Also known as: ⚠️ A pool of toxic waste ⚠️ The most dangerous water in the UK With a PH value akin to bleach, hiding submerged cars, faeces and animal carcasses it's not ideal for a swim 🤢

Over the weekend, you may have noticed that the in was a vivid orange colour. There is no need for any concern and this is a occasional phenomena due to the release of iron oxides from abandoned mine workings due to changes in groundwater levels.
