There is not justice when black women in America are making 61 cents on the dollar of what white men make. We have to adopt Equal Pay for Equal Work through the Paycheck Fairness Act.

Black women make 61 cents to every dollar earned by white men & have to work almost 8 months into 2019 to earn the same amount white men did in 2018. In New York we banned salary history questions, but we've got more work to do.

Black women make only 61 cents to every $1 paid to white men—a wage gap that reflects how Black women’s work is too often undervalued & underpaid. We must change this and close the gender wage gap.

serves as a reminder that a wage gap of $.61 (cents) for every $1.00 a white man makes is unacceptable! We fight to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights that our Black women demand and deserve!

I distinctly recall the rage I felt a few years back sitting on a panel next to a male filmmaker who had been PAID to be there. While I just was “honored” to be there with no check. oooooh i felt DUMM for that. And THAT WAS THE LAST TIME. 👏🏿

Today is and I'm still unemployed due to department layoffs. I've stoppe talking to recuriters because I'm tired of constantly being told I'll never get the salary I'm looking for. I know multiple men asking and getting more than the number I give them

Its BW must work for 1yr & 8 months to earn what their White male counterparts earn in a yr. This costs full-time-working BW $946K in lost wages over our lifetime. This is why we have to get comfortable sharing our salaries & negotiating offers/raises

I used to accept so much less in everything. I didn’t dare to ask for more. Having a kid started to change that — my daughter is watching me. And we are all watching each other. 👏🏿 now i say YES I’d like to do this AND this is my rate/fee. PERIOD.

Today is . This means that Black women will have worked all of 2018 through today to earn what men earned in 2018 alone. This translates to Black women earning just 61 cents for every dollar earned by White, non-Hispanic men.

It took all of 2018 plus almost 8 months of 2019 for Black women to earn what white men made last year. is a stark reminder of the progress that is still needed to make equal pay for equal work a reality. One step forward—pass the Act.

It’s and we're curious: other than the notable Vic and Kiri, where are the rest of the Black women behind the scenes? Where would the franchise be if more Black women were working up front and center along side the many white and male voices?

A white actor’s contract ended up in my envelope by accident on set🤦🏾‍♀️. He was making $6,000 more than me. He also had zero TV/Film credits. My new team of agents/managers are all POCs and this year they’ve been amazing at making sure I get the BEST rate

Black women earn just 61 cents for every dollar made by white men. Today, , represents how far into the year black women have had to work to earn what white men did in all of 2018. This is unacceptable. Everyone deserves .
