Of all the recent Limerick Council street events the event was the least thought out Clearly planned by people who still don't get what everyday cycling in a city is all about Emphasised speed that HGVs can kill you at any moment & seemed 2b more barriers than people 🙄

Encouraging more Londoners to take up cycling is integral to improving our health and cleaning up our toxic air. Whether you’re just learning to ride or a seasoned cyclist, find free events across London this and throughout the summer:

Do not overtake just before you turn left and watch out for traffic coming up on your left before you make the turn, especially if driving a large vehicle. Cyclists, motorcyclists and other road users in particular may be hidden from your view.

When turning right, wait until there is a safe gap between you and any oncoming vehicle. Watch out for cyclists, motorcyclists, pedestrians and other road users. Check your mirrors and blind spot again to make sure you are not being overtaken, then make the turn.

Look carefully before you start reversing. You should check there are no pedestrians (particularly children), cyclists, other road users or obstructions in the road behind you before moving.

Yesterday I rode a short way with Nick on his End to End Ride & we were welcomed by colleagues at the office. Having started cycling just 18 months ago & losing 4 stone since he did, there’s no one more inspiring to follow during 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Biking tip learned from a parent = no more running along the bike bent over holding the seat and handle bars. Simply place a towel, sweatshirt, or long sleeve under the arms, pull up to keep balance. Little to no discomfort for the child.

As its we decided to use the e-bikes to get to the control buildings to do our weekly checks (part of our on-call duties). As quick as taking the van, much more fun, and getting some fresh air in the lungs- what's not to love!

Cycled into town today to meet someone for lunch only to be faced with dodging vans on the cycle lanes. Dangerous and annoying 🤦🏼‍♀️

How’s this for and ? I cycled home today on my normal commute and gave a snail a lift all the way back to my garden! Probably the fastest and furthest she’s ever travelled!

Great photos from our Bike Breakfast this morning at the brilliant The rain did not mask the beauty of the venue or slow the conversation about how we enable people across the city to enjoy the many benefits of cycle-commuting.
