It's absolutely fascinating how differently male/female approach my MC & other characters. What women find intriguing, men find suspicious, & while women seem assured MC can take care of herself, men want her to be more wary. Can't take the psychologist outta me 🤔

When it comes to getting betas for a book that's a sequel in a series... The betas will need to know the original context of the story right? Or do they just read to give opinion on what's there? Any betas have any opinions on this?

I have personal ; they're friends I know 1) love to read AND 2) will be brutally honest. Different readers have different skills. I have two friends for example, who are well versed in the city in which the action takes place and its history.
