Since when was Iceland ‘East’ of Scotland? 🤔 Lazy, lazy journalism using headlines because they think it’ll get a few extra ‘click throughs’. 🤷‍♂️

If you find yourself stuck behind a tractor this week, please remember... Just a few months ago the same farm workers were volunteering, turning out 24/7 to keep roads open, pull vehicles from ditches and get through when no one else could. .

Didn’t this stratospheric warming lead to the in Feb/March this year? So we can basically (potentially) expect a *very* cold January/February?

Wow! Synoptically a lot of the GEFS 06z runs will challenge the February *remember* there is FAR less cold pooling to the north & east at this time of year than in Jan/Feb, despite that some runs stampede into "Big Freeze" territory.

Both the NHs and ScotGov acknowledged that wasn't acceptable. had huge impact and action taken/money given to improve since. Selective info sharing by pro-Uk media helps only the Tories!

This is really cool! Same shot of Dovercourt during the and now the Heatwave. Ironically both events brought about by similar conditions - high pressure centred to the east of the British Isles with a Continental feed of air... ❄️🌡️

We've seen a lot of unusual weather this year - the Arctic was over 30°C above average and the sent the UK sub-zero. We need to reduce our emissions rapidly as could simply be called ‘summer’ in the future.

I hope 2019 doesn't bring another , nightmare for wildlife! I do recall reading somewhere about the Thames freezing over, sounds like an interesting book. Sun trying to get out here now but cold. Keep warm Skylark and have a top day 🕊️
