Exactly! Awarding research funds on what people have done, rather than what they will do only perpetuate these trends and promotes success for the ‘in crowd’. I know this data isn’t success rate (which are hopefully similar) but the still has a huge problem to tackle IMO

Thanks to those who sent me more data. Looking at Discovery Early Career Researcher Award 2021, I see there is a clear issue with the number of applicants being much higher for males. We need more female applicants. Female success rates are a little higher.
