My sci-fi pet peeve is when they name stuff after Earth stuff: Nomnomian Bats, Xionian Stretch frogs, Funyunian Brandy. Challenge me. Tell me it's a Flump and it has four arses and keeps its genitals in the crook of its elbow. Show me magic.

Got in my 500 words today which wrapped up Chapter 3 and started Chapter 4. I do love action scenes with it's ample mortal peril and girly screaming.

Does anyone else have a hard time trying to figure out how to write the first sentence of every new chapter? Like I know what's going to happen, I just spend an eternity trying to find the right words for the first sentence
