I decided to point my amateur (ham) radio to the skies and caught my first transmission via the Lilac-2 Amateur radio satellite on 437.200 MHz. Pretty cool stuff 📡🛰

36F, cloudless night, coyotes hooting and yipping in the distance, a shooting star overhead and the most traffic I have ever heard on a 06:00 UTC satellite pass. DM02 in the books, I can picture and on deck as we made a QSO. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

For those of you using what are you using? Radio, aprs tracker, phone app? Just curious. I am quite a ways from a repeater tower so I have not pursued aprs but still want too.

Now that is leaving AO-92 in U/v mode this weekend (Thanks !) it looks like the first pass now from DM02 will be AO-92 at 11:15pm PAC / 0615z. It's a 24 deg W pass, perfect for west coast folks! If you have footprint plan to be on for the first DM02 qso's!
