How do people cope waiting on replies from agents/publishers you’ve queried? Like I’ve only sent 3 so far and I swear I check my writing email every twenty minutes and have a mini heart attack when it says new email and it’s just Pinterest😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Squee! Got my first request for more material from an agent—I know it’s not a guarantee but WOW what a feeling! After nothing but rejections since I started submitting in January, this is very exciting!

I received the most uplifting rejection on a full. I’m disappointed, but the agent said they really enjoyed my story and would absolutely pick it up at a store. They said I was a huge talent, that I would find a brilliant agent. I’m so so close 🤞

When querying or considering an offer of rep, it's VITAL you research the agent. Check Absolute Write. Querytracker. Above all, reach out to past & current clients, if possible; they'll likely be able to tell you far more than is available publicly.

Been super anxious this week (still am a little). I’ve come to accept it’s just how I am sometimes. Sorry to those who know me and have had to deal with it. Anyway, I woke up to a full manuscript request from a publisher this morning- so that’s exciting!

Hi, I'm a late-in-life writer and 30 years ago, I wrote 4 PB’s, received 1 no, and filed them away. Last October, I wrote another children’s book. I’m learning, reading, revising, querying, & failing forward since. Won't stop this time!

Hey , care to share a ? My advice is to make sure your manuscript is as polished as possible: multiple rounds of beta feedback and developmental editing are much more important than proofreading. Structure is paramount 🙂🙃🧐

After 6 straight hours of hacking and slashing, I have a pretty darn good query letter and a synopsis outline 🙌 I welcome all synopsis tips but for now it's time to sleep on it! (And watch reality TV 😍)
