All class from Hardwick. Straight from a pretty dark post match press conference and into the rooms to congratulate the players and Nathan Buckley.

Yes, small sample size, yes didnt hurt Richmond last year, yes final five was same, but in modern context, 1 game in 27 days not enough. Consider this. From 2007-2015, 17 of 18 QF winners won PFs. Since pre-finals bye (before todays game), its 2/5.

Here's a stat for fans. Since current final 8 system introduced in 2000, there's been four QF rematches in a GF. In every case (03, 05, 06 and 15) the QF result has been reversed.

Couldn’t believe how many players slipped over tonight. Was it wet, hard or just pressure?

In the decades to come, when club historians run their finger over our 2018 entry, they'll shake their head a bit, and mutter to themselves, what a missed opportunity by the best team of the season.

One of the reasons I fell for as top four side in 2016 was the sort of outside run they’d showed that pre-season. Saw it again last night now complemented by great pressure and defence. It’s a potent blend and they’ll be tough to beat next Saturday.

It sucks. But the sucky bit is just the end of the greatest 12 months I’ve ever had as a supporter. I’m more grateful than disappointed, more proud than dejected, more confident of reloading than despondent. What a ride.

As an Adelaide supporter I'm angry and disappointed, because I know from experience that we have to be so much better than either of these sides to achieve half as much from outside Victoria. With full respect to Collingwood. This league is not fair.

Is there a better big game player than Steele Sidebottom? What a fantastic player. I’ll never forget him tearing the Bombers apart almost single handedly on Anzac Day. One Pie I’d love at Essendon

Love hearing what Hardwick did post game, going to Collingwood rooms and congratulating Bucks and the players. As a fan, the best experience is barracking for a good team that loses with class.
