Have broken through a huge barrier & had a conversation with my bro about how has affected me. As my parents’ bio child he says he can “never truly understand”, but reader - he listened 🙏💕

This is what’s wrong w/ ’s portrayal. It’s always about the parent and their struggle, never the invisible child and birth family left behind. When we’re up against this, we need to write harder, speak louder, and never give up.

Why are non-adopted people so afraid to support rights? What is it about us that scare people? Are they afraid that supporting us means admitting they’ve been wrong about , shattering longheld beliefs? If we were any other marginalized group, they’d listen. Why?

I bought our daughter this book on Sunday. Awesome stories of female role models. Tonight she asked for her ‘favourite story’ Simone Biles. “She’s an Olympic gymnast, she started when she was 6 & she is ADOPTED” She’d discovered this herself It makes it all worthwhile

Just because your adopted/ foster child doesn't show or tell you doesn't mean they're not thinking or feeling it. Often, many adoptees/foster kids will hide their feelings from you and keep it to themselves.

As an adoptee that has struggled w grief + trauma, it’s easy to be upset when others have found peace + u can’t seem to find it. U get angry. U think ur not trying enough or u will never be strong enough. Just a reminder: we can’t compare our healing w others 🐢.

If I never saw another story go viral it would be to soon. Adoptive parents, guard your child's adoption story, it's not your story to tell. Respect your child's privacy and agency to tell or not tell.
