As a child, I was told I wouldn’t achieve what others could achieve. As a teenager, people judged as I was studying at a lower level to them. Today, I wear my hat with pride as I graduate university with a Bsc honours degree. An incredible journey.

Do I think autistic people are the next step in human evolution? No. . . But I do think we’ve always been here and play an important role in humanity.

Sometimes autistics being bullied in the workplace is zero percent to do with autism awareness or acceptance. They are aware enough to make us targets, even if we pass/don’t advertise the label. Sometimes it’s just 100% your staff are bullying assholes πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

- if you could give ONE BOOK to a newly diagnosed/discovered autistic person (or the parents if it is a young person), what book would you give?

Anyone else have β€œfeelings about numbers?” For example I have always disliked the numbers 7 & 13 but liked 14 & loved 8. My Instagram is about to roll from the 7k to the 8k range and I’m excited about seeing my favorite number soon.

Being Autistic AND Non-Binary just seems to open me up to be attacked even more. It's not okay. I'm not okay right now. When you block someone for being rude about pronouns and they follow you to youtube and try to justify it, that's also not okay.

I’m realizing that being indistinguishable from my peers has inadvertently been an internalized goal. While I’ve gained self knowledge a year after being diagnosed, I have not been kinder to myself. I feel guilty for struggling & not being able to keep up.

and folks: do you feel the need to look through every single notification you get? I've been getting a lot lately, and I feel like I have to check social media too often to make sure I'm not missing anything. Any tips for avoiding this.

So...a few months after my late dx and a few too many questions later, I'm made to feel that I'm either too autistic or not autistic enough. I think to myself... I've made it so far with no help, why should such small talk matter? Anyone else?
