Somebody made a special trip to campus with me to drop off the 4th year binder.

I’ve caught the crud, but instead of sleeping it off, I’m pounding tea and trying to push through and make a dent in my midterm grading while the kids are at school/preschool/daycare. Maybe an afternoon nap in my future if I’m lucky?

I got pregnant with my 1st child during undergrad, started my masters with a toddler, had baby #2 in the middle of my PhD. Someone recently asked me if I wished I had done anything differently. Yes, I wish I had stopped caring about what people think sooner.

I’m amazed at how much proteomics literature I can review on my iPhone, with only one available hand, while holding a sick, sleeping baby. Thankful for a husband who brought water and propped up my arms with pillows.

It needs a final read through, but for now it's time to round up the kidlets and head into the sunshine/funshine.

New bedtime story arrives in the households of lawyer mamas up and down the country today. And it’s great!

Moments after this she was the fussiest she’s been for the whole conference — right as I was trying to present. Oops! I fed her while discussing my poster and eventually she fell asleep in my arms. Overall, not bad! LOL

No teaching today, office hours, writing and errands. Kid needs new pants because half of his fall pants are too big in the waist and I have to run grant paperwork around campus before kid goes to the doc

Same here. I took baby for a pram walk and patted and stranger's dog in the park.

Thank you! And I’m wrapping up my very on-brand post-seminar/talk routine of calling my kiddos to say goodnight then eating chips in bed while watching U.S. Netflix 🤣

I'm lying between sleeping husband and sniffling baby, intermittently sucking snot out of her nose with plastic bauble thing (who knows where the nosefrida from baby1 has gone?).

Who remembers the great poster incident of 2017? The one where I rode on 5 different trains to get from France to Germany to present a poster and managed to lose my poster - twice - along the way? Welp, here we go again!
