I’ve so enjoyed reading lots of children’s literature this summer and loved putting together these reviews for my class. Thanks for the inspiration and . Hope it inspires my class to read a variety of books this year

I love how kids aren’t afraid of technology. I looked up from my desk today to see a gorilla walking through my room... this was followed by a juggling octopus

Jemmy Button: The Boy that Darwin Returned Home by Jennifer Uman and Valerio Vidali retells the true story of a boy taken from his island in the early 1800s to show a ‘wild man’ could be transformed into an English gent. Much to discuss in UKS2!

Going to be teaching Year 6 this year. Does anyone have any tips for things to read/ do/ prepare? 📚 Being a sub teacher has been great but setting up my own class for the first time is making me a little nervous now 😬

Finished Queen of Freedom- a fast paced, short MG novel shining a much needed light on Black History and British culpability. Good for yr6+ classrooms, I’m sure this will appeal to my reluctant readers in September !
