Spalted birch for a live-edge picture frame I made yesterday. Those zone lines are sweet.

The metal yard at your county/town dump is great for finding used table bases. If you are building with slabs, a pre-made table base speeds up the process. Here are several bases I've found for woodworking projects. This is one is actually part of a tire jack.

Pretty much done with the table. All the staining and finishing is done. Only need to attach the lower shelf. Still not sure what I think of these colors together...won't really be able to judge it until it's in place.

Why I don’t do sports? I broke into sweat 6 times today, carrying stuff, working. Enough calories burned. I also had to drive 4 tours of 50km through city traffic. That sucked. It really sucked. Time for the tub, I cannot think straight anymore…

Flush trimming tabs and adding a round over to some pieces that came off the CNC. Matt started out with the -47104 1/2" diameter insert carbide In-Tech flush trim bit from on his @sawstopsaws router table.

Starting off the weekend strong. This is a kumiko panel that will be the sliding door in the desk I've been working on. Crudely drawn infill asanoha pattern in the 2nd pic to help with measurements.

Squeezed out a couple more boards today. Tried a little simpler designs. Just experimenting.

I've been reading "The Soul of a Tree: A Woodworker's Reflections" by George Nakashima. Great book and I'll post more comments sometime but the following is such a great quote on the "nobility of a tree." This long paragraph will be in three-tweets long.

I made a thing today! Signed up for milk delivery, now I have a fancy cooler for my milk to be delivered to, instead of a big ugly plastic thing on my front porch. And yes, I built it all by myself. :)

Realised today that I always call my ear defenders "bins" and I have no idea why. Does anyone else call them this or is it just me?

This is an interesting thread. Folks definitely have a visceral reaction to this one. My take is you figure out how to get a project done with the tools you got or figure out what you need to do/acquire to get the project done.
