Hospital CEO just told council that only 11 (out of about 4,000 Regional Hospital employees?) bike to work. No wonder this city is so unhealthy when so few health workers appear to be active.

Listening to so many passionate and eloquent residents pleading with the councillors not to hollow out the city of , it's hard to believe a diligent council will ignore them in favour of the developers. But this council has a track record of marching to a different drum.

In Essex, in spite of 2 extreme rainfall events in less than a year, it's in planning Canada's most distant hospital relative to its city, surrounded by a new 400 ha subdivision in spite of stalled pop. growth. We shouldn't be planning for more driving!
