This year the Council was awarded a grant to help the borough celebrate the Windrush generation and their descendants. There will be a number of events including a Caribbean baking project, tea party and reminiscence cricket on Hackney Marshes.

Martin Forde QC tells Nottingham Windrush meeting that some of the tariffs in the compensation scheme might be low such as the amounts payable for voluntary return & loss of university places but these might be changed. He says people should apply & test the scheme.

At the compensation meeting organised by in Nottingham we heard from Veronica who gave a tearful account of how her father, who had been denied reentry to the UK, wrongfully, died of untreated prostate cancer in Jamaica before he could get redress.

No sympathy. She was the origin of the ‘hostile environment’ behind the scandal, she’s found her own now. She and her predecessor vie for the title of since WW2.

She's absolutely brought this on herself with her Red Lines and no negotiation with other parties. She deserves all she gets as it's 100% her fault we are where we are today. That's before we even talk about Ideally she ends up in jail.
