August 15, 2019 - Wyoming This is pretty much at the top of the list of shit I never thought I'd see when it comes to severe weather systems. Would trade every tornado I've ever photographed just to witness a couple more of these in my lifetime.

Here's an example of mountains being an 'elevated heating source.' The Wind River Range & Big Horn Mtns (WY) helped spawn clouds more quickly because the air parcels over the mountains didn't have to rise as far to create clouds, compared to the low elevations.
