These guys are hoping SO hard that we don’t look at the real pedestrian safety problem - driver entitlement and reckless behaviour, North American car culture, deadly street design, lack of enforcement. It’s a distraction.

This is where we’re focusing on building out bike lanes & where our planners will focus their community engagement efforts in the coming months. We’re adding 125 miles of bike lanes by 2023 to make biking a safer & more comfortable option!

Starting tomorrow, our crews will be installing 40 mph signs along East 56th Ave from Tower to Peoria, reducing the speed limit by 5 mph to create safer travel conditions. It’s the third stretch we’ve reduced speeds on this year.

While we admire the intention, we highly recommend NOT cutting down your peripheral vision with a taxpayer-funded eyeball mask while crossing the street. This is NOT what Denver means by . Stay safe.

Maybe I shouldn't need to affirm acknowledgement of my presence by drivers AND drivers should triple check before making any decision while behind the wheel. They are the ones wielding the deadly weapon.

Be aware everyone come Monday: a Carnegie Mellon University study found people walking around at dusk are more likely to be struck/killed by people in cars in the days following the end of daylight saving time than just before the time change.

I appreciate what you're trying to accomplish @DenPublicWorks, but tagging this post when you let the contractors doing the work obstruct the bike lane rings hollow.
