It can be difficult as a pedestrian to judge the speed and distraction levels of a driver. Use crosswalks, avoid stepping out in front of cars because you feel they should stop, and make eye contact with a driver are all actions you can take to stay safe.

As a pedestrian & cyclist in Alexandria (and occasional driver too), I expect the city to design streets that discourage driver distraction and high rates of speed, like choke downs, bump-outs, raised crosswalks, and automated traffic enforcement.

It can be difficult to judge the carelessness and distraction levels of a concealed carry holder. Use bullet proof vests, avoid public places that don't ban guns, and make eye contact with a shooter are all actions you can take to stay safe.

Have you heard about the 'No Turn On Red Restrictions' that will be going into place around the City? As part of the Plan () the City committed to this step at a min. of 10 intersections. Staff has IDed over 30. Changes will start this fall.
