Education is absolutely one of the fundamentals of proper safety! Making sure employees understand basic rules and concepts will help them make informed actions that will protect not only themselves but the people around them as well.

A5) I would like to be spoken to in the context that I did not understand the severity of the violation vs. I was stupid or inconsiderate for not following safety rules.

I saw a supervisor yelling at a guy in a bucket working on electrical wire the other day. It seemed harsh, but the guy could have killed himself being unsafe and not following protocol. Stressing safety when lives are on the line.

I would definitely appreciate being spoken to in a professional manner. Being explained what I did wrong, detailing the steps I could take to not make the same mistake, and finally being shown the process again from start to finish to ensure I fully grasp the idea.
