This week, Republicans chose to indefinitely postpone a hearing instead of voting on my amendment to undo the gag rule. This is disappointing, but I will not back down from the fight to & the affordable health care millions of patients rely on.

Senate GOP pulled an approps bill before a markup today to avoid voting on my amendment to get rid of the gag rule. If they are more willing to listen to President Trump than patients in their own states, they should own up to it & let their votes show it.

The fact that policies designed to restrict abortion access often also cut off birth control access too is NOT an accident. The anti-choice movement is intentionally targeting birth control to punish women who have sex.

Patients across the country rely on funded health care centers for essential repro health care and for accurate medical advice—which is why this program has historically had strong support from both sides.

Can you imagine going to a cardiologist who knows what procedure will save your life but is prohibited by law from telling you about it? That’s what the Trump adminstration’s does. It goes against every basic tenet of medical care. Unacceptable.

"A teenager nearly burst into tears when she was told the birth control she had picked up for free during her last visit would now cost about $120 out of pocket." This is the consequence of President Trump's gag rule - patients going without care.

Doctors should be able to talk freely with their patients about all their options – not just what politicians deem acceptable. Trump's domestic gag rule will hurt patients across the country – we can't let it stand.

Another group - this time an entire state - bites the dust due to the poor policy in the finalized rule. I know Oregon will do its best to continue to provide comprehensive care for women, but their ability to do so is now facing significant challenges.

What does reproductive health care in New Hampshire look like without funding? For the Joan G. Lovering Health Center, it's -$111,000: a bare-bones staff, & elimination of sliding fee scale and walk-in STI clinic.

Washington state has withdrawn from rather than comply with new rules. The Washington Department of Health chose to withdraw rather than obey a new Trump administration rule banning grantees from referring women for abortions.
