Always impressed w/principals who greet their students at the door as they enter school. Even more w/those who do this every day of the school year. I wonder the cultural impact if every staff member was able to be part of a rotation to do the same?

As schools begin to lay out plans for the fall be mindful of where & w/whom you share your frustrations. Kids don’t need to hear adults complaining about the decisions being made & when kids complain let’s model what it means 2 be the voice of reason.

Trust is the most critical component in healthy cultures. At times staff needs a safe place to vent in confidence. When that confidence is violated b/c we choose to share w/someone else it becomes gossip, which leads to an unhealthy culture.

One way to ensure prospective new families feel welcomed & valued is to ensure that schools take time to give school tours during their visit & arrange convos w/students, staff & admin. It’s not only about 1st impressions, but every impression.
