Cleveland Landmarks Apr 15
On April 15, 1985 passed Ord. 381-85 designating the Slovenian National Home as a Cleveland Landmark. Built in 1924 around the Diemer estate, it has been an important hub of Slovenian-American culture for 95 years.

The East Ohio Gas Company Explosion & Fire occurred in on Oct 20 1944. A tank, constructed at the northern end of East 61st in 1942 to store reserves of liquid natural gas, began to leak vapor which, when mixed with air, became combustible and exploded.
