I don’t know how the BBC are going to top this year. I can’t remember a year of such incredible drama, one after the other, like 2018.

It still bewilders me that after slavery, the slave masters were given compensation for losing their slaves, however the slaves were given absolutely no support to rebuild their lives. They were given the chance to rejoin the race, but from a thousand miles behind.

I’m literally sitting here in tears after tonight’s . It’s been such an outstanding story. I have literally made sure I’ve sat down to watch it everyday, which is not something I often do anymore. So sad and yet so beautiful. One of my favourite programmes this year.

was absolutely wonderful and beautifully acted, but also a suitably uncomfortable reminder that so much of Britain's wealth was built on the systematic abuse and exploitation of non-white people.

I got my hands on online because the BBC refuses to release it in the US. It's about time someone represented the Caribbean side of slavery and colonialism!

The Long Song on BBC1 has been absolutely brilliant. Not often I physically wince at a programme and struggle to watch. Amazing acting and incredibly harrowing
