No... the real reason no one is watching is because these celebrities get up there and tell me their opinion on some common folk issues... get out of here with that

So are adding a “popular film” category. Or better named, “films that make a bunch of money but aren’t recognized as Best Picture”

that all being said, have been extremely flawed since the conception of the ceremony. it's sometimes a useful metric for people who haven't seen every film of the last year to know what received praise, but the concept of films "competing" for best picture is crazy.

severely disrespected the entire film industry and artists of all kind when they introduced a catergory for “popular movies.”

Y’all know I love and in my amateur opinion I’m going to put this prediction out there: anything coming out w Steve Carell will be nominated.

The decision made recently about is very frustrating. While new categories have come and gone over time, I feel the addition of “popular movie” was made for the worst reason ever: rating$. It disrespects the long, rich history of cinema’s most prestigious award.

If really want to fix timing and viewing problems, stop doing stupid sketches like the 'invading poor people screenings', and prediction games and you'll save a good 20 minutes of pure cringe.

I have too many thoughts on the news today to really put into words. I will say, they’re stupid changes that are pandering (🤑). Also, we wait all year for The Oscars. Filmmakers and actors etc spend years making films and to have a moment of winning an Oscar unaired?

Actually people have grown tired of hearing actors, actresses’ (etc.) political complaining when they came to see an award show and hear about cinema. Keep CNN...at CNN!!!

The reason why ratings are going down is as soon as someone starts talking politics, viewers changes the station, and I am one of them. Keep politics out. It’s a fun night for y’all to enjoy the hard work you put into.

Between and all the cases, and basically in Hospice barely hanging on, we might actually get to see the death of an old, sick Hollywood be risen into glory as a new creation... with less butt-kissing awards shows, please! 🙏🙌

So basically just made a new category for the Disney popcorn flicks that arent anywhere good enough movies to contend for the top awards like Best Picture. Ridiculous.

ITS. ALL. ABOUT. THE. MONEY. 💰 💴 💵 Network television isn’t making enough $ off Oscar telecast. Oscar telecast is bloated & most people don’t see films nominated. But instead of recognizing the real problems, they think a participation trophy solves it? 🙄

are a mess and are attempting to regain relevance by adding a joke of a category which serves no real value in the long run.

needs to just give an award for best stunt-person, best stunt performed or any variety of stunt work. Stunt people have literally DIED on set to perform for movies.
