Giving this a ton of crip side-eye 😒 1) Super curious if the designers worked in partnership w/ actual wheelchair users 2) Stories like this ‘blow minds’ because enthusiasm for tech trumps advancements in accessible infrastructure & polices every damn time

It’s simply impossible that I tore my labrum that badly from my psoas tendon snapping over my anterior hip surface. Now that the anesthetic has worn off, I’m furious. If that first doctor had taken me seriously, the damage might not have been so bad.

I know it’s but I *really* wish politicians in Stamford and Norwalk would listen more to their disabled constituents who need plastic straws to drink. I cannot believe I’m still tweeting about straws and but here we are.

The only reason I said that is because when disabled people talk about the we use the hashtag . It seemed like it was an intentional use of the term (I’ve heard “Straws Suck” in other campaigns) and I was only trying to help you avoid further criticism.

This is as groovy as those super hip wireless ear buds. >>> We call them Hearing Aids and pay much more for them<<< 👉👂👀 I’m all for creative marketing. But stop charging ppl w/disability thousands more $ for things hipsters want to make cool

Thanks to for interviewing me for this piece in on how not everyone can stop using single-use plastic products entirely such as disabled people!

Can you state the ratio of dead people to injured turtles you find acceptable? There’s a whole hashtag, , describing how plastic straws save some people from death and injury. I won’t debate that. Just wondering what your number is.

Washington State ESSB 5077 (drinking straw ban) failed to pass the house. We will not see a ban on plastic drinking straws this year.

Happy Earth Day! If you truly want to reduce plastic pollution in the ocean, give up fish (yes, sushi too. Yes, I know it sucks b/c sushi is amazing) and leave disabled ppl that need plastic straws alone, thanks!

I’m going to let the abled population and the ableists within it in on a mind-blowing secret. You might not want to live life with a disability and make disparaging comments about how you wouldn’t. Fact: My disability is not something I fight. It’s WHY I fight. .

Riiiiight?!? This shit is just tech razzle dazzle clickbait. I guess listening to what wheelchair users actually want and need isn’t radical or disruptive enough 😭
