Here were the things that I identified with the most: "I would have this kind of childlike curiosity about the unexplainable. The metaphysical. The spiritual. The mystical. And then I’d be on a loop." Reading books like, and EFFED w/me.

I fell in love with ’s thinking and writing when I read . This book took me even further. It made me think, question, and observe. I’ve already started talking about it with colleagues, and I look forward to conversations with students this year.

You can’t get blame this on anything but racism & anti-blackness. I try constantly to preach about the necessity to read . I can tell you it changed my perspective on so many things & I am confident it will change how I practice as a future social worker.

If racism is eliminated, most White people in the top economic & political brackets fear it would eliminate one of the most effective tools to conquer, control, & exploit non-whites and low- and middle-income Whites.

2) Uplift Suasion (talented tenth) The more Black ppl uplift themself, the more racist backlash they receive. Exhibit A: President Obama Black ppl must stop worrying about what others think about the way they act, speak, dress etc.
