. Can you believe this? Here we have a fledgling sparrow who sneaked through an air vent, fell into a wall cavity & chirruped for 5 DAYS before the local college drilled through the wall to rescue him. What endurance. Must have found drips of water & insects

Found this sparrow among our chipping sparrows in the garden. A little bit bigger than all the other and the colors are brighter, more intense with different patterns. I think it's an immature White-crowned . ...

Said I'd try for better photos of the Lincoln's... I think I succeeded..it was worth getting muddy & wet from laying on wet ground in my yard- so many photos, but loving these 2 right now

Backyard visitors yesterday in the rain, included a Lincoln's Sparrow and 4 white crowned sparrows (3 visible here) they are all back today so hoping for better photos!

Fresh water out for the birds and the sparrows are loving it! so important to make sure there is water down during these periods of hot weather. Have had a constant queue for the water bowls!

For your amusement, Grasshopper Sparrow and Henslow’s Sparrow singing at regular speed and slowed down. Grasshopper has very little head movement, but extends the wings a little; Henslow’s has several head motions but no wing display.
