I'm so proud of Israel's space team. This is a dream of 2 Israeli people, that never gave up on their dream to land on the moon. Their spacecraft may have crashed, but their dream is still alive. I'm sure Israel will make it one day soon.

'We choose to go to the moon...not because it's easy, but because it's hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept...and one which we intend to win.'

How sad, after all that build-up, the Beresheet moon module crash landed on the moon - going too fast, apparently. Head of mission now joking that Israel fourth country to have parts on the moon. New try in two years, I hear.

Obviously, I wish that had made to to the surface in one piece. Obviously. But to have made it as far as they did is so wildly, wildly, insanely impressive. Something only superpower nations have done before. Never lose sight of that fact.

My heartfelt thanks to those from the region who wished success in landing on the moon and encouraged Israel to try again after the failed attempt (so close!) last night. To those who gloated and cursed us I say: you're just jealous of us.
