A very soggy, muddy trail and riverbank 4 mile run in unrelenting torrential rain ☔️ Definitely contemplated staying in bed as I have a week off but glad I got out there, made me feel much better after a weekend of indulgence

Serendipity: a spur of the moment walk on the today - heard two and watched an otter feeding. We crouched in the grass as it slowly swam and dived its way passed us. Just a few metres away. A hold your breath moment.

I have walked this path so many times over the years yet each time together with nature it helps to restore a tired mind. Bitterns booming, reeds full of Warblers overhead are Swallows & Sand Martin's. I now have a notebook of new ideas for pieces to write.

Early morning walk along the River Parrett. A heron flew past, a swan flew past, heard a cuckoo. It was perfect.
