was called Ynyswytryn in ancient Welsh, which means grassy island. Glastonbury Tor was formerly an island, but in the 9th century England tilted and actually rose a few inches above sea level.

the Cope Chest used to store the robes of the clergy in Wells Cathedral. This dates back to 1120 and is made of local oak. It is still used today. 16 photos of Wells Cathedral on my blog post:

A delightful sight and sound of 50-60 cranes returning to roost on a Moor at twilight yesterday. While these were flying overhead a Barn Owl was out hunting the fields below.
