One of the great joys I find in teaching is working with students who are new to our country. Sometimes I think if all the folks who disparage immigrants could spend a day with my kids, we’d have a very different political climate today. !

Holy moley, what an exciting time in American politics! So many things seem possible. For instance: • A Chuck Schumer run in 2020 • A pathway to means-tested health savings accounts for all, by 2036 • Air strikes on Damascus • And–evergreen–regulatory reform

To me being a feminist encompasses the fight for equality for EVERYONE in every way. I will never be willfully blind to injustice or inequality and I will never be bullied or shamed into not fighting against it. Sí Se Puede! Yes we can!

Julián Castro is the FIRST LATINO running for the Democratic Party in 2020. Had a whole MARIACHI and everything at his campaign announcement this morning. Politics aside, I thought I’d never see a Latino running for president in my lifetime!
