I’ll share in a thread a personal story of why I wore the Puerto Rican flag in the lapel during the Presidential lecture . It is a story that goes back to my undergrad days, and a story about belonging and representation. (1/n)

I must admit I’m underwhelmed with Neuroimmunology/glia/vascular portion of program. It fees like we are back 10 years ago when 99% of posters are dealing with 50% of the brain cells (neurons). Neurons are super important but they are not there on their own!

I felt like I was dying this morning at the poster sessions and I just now realized it's because I forgot to have coffee this morning. I've gotten some starbucks and I'm human again. Happy last day of y'all 😂☕

Science should not have borders. We all benefit from the free flow of ideas, and face-to-face meetings are the best way to communicate with each other
