On Friday I received a giddy email from the Home Office proudly saying they had granted one million people , delighted with their progress so far.

EU citizens were told BY THE GOVT that in case of they had until 31.12.20 to apply for . Now, the HO says we may not have the right to return home after 31 Oct if we don’t have SS. Is that legal? How are they going to process 2.5M applications in 8 weeks?

Can we have more politicians condemning this despicable government's new Freedom of Movement plans? This is absolutely frightening for people who have not yet applied for (outrageous + demeaning) scheme, whose deadline remains Dec 2020.

Have been trying on 3 different devices to do settled status. Why can't I upload a pic of my ID card. 3 people have tried on 3 devices. What to do when it doesn't work?

Just applied for . They asked for 7 yrs' worth of proof of residency in the UK rather than their advertised 5 yrs. It went quite smoothly yet it was a really stressful experience. My BP is 156 over 97 after doing it. Now I must wait for their answer.

My mum is currently putting applying for off. I think she's worried it'll go wrong and she'll be sent "back home" to the country she left 42 years ago when she was 21. Well done on finding the energy to do something so upsetting and frustrating.

referring to paper documentation. Settled status gives you no physical docs. Only gives registration on a home office database. Imagine the time taken in airports for officers to confer with home office it system.

So, I am an employer hiring an EU national on 15th November. They say they have been here a while and will apply for (but don't have to until Dec 2020 - I can't check. (1/)

'It is difficult to see how the already overstretched NHS will manage to distinguish between EU citizens with a right to NHS care and those who will have to pay – especially as two million settled EU citizens do not have paperwork yet.'

For those who don't know: Davide (right) opened an account in April, praised and immediately got RT by Sajid Javid. He deleted his Twitter & matching LinkedIn profile after the tweet blew up. I wonder if Davide (left) is Davide (right). (Via )

Exactly! Especially when we don’t have a paper proof of and we won’t be getting one.

Applying for isn't easy. I can't provide an ID because Greece will not issue me a passport unless I spend crazy money to delay my army obligations. I came to the UK as a child and then I ended up in care. I was never a habitual resident either even if I never left

I applied for and received . Part of me is very happy that I didn’t need additional evidence but part of me is very angry that I had to apply to stay in a country where I’ve lived, paid taxes and NI contributions. I should be relieved but I just feel sad.

So did anybody else notice that the Android app for the EU Settled Status process in the U.K. uses a face scan format perfect for databases and the controversial facial recognition systems currently being installed?
