This is a rhetorical question but if the are spending "close to the cap" beginning in 2021 why wouldn't they front-load White's deal instead of the other way around to leave more $$ when they would presumably need it?

There is a bit of risk in this deal obviously but Colin White showed he can be a productive NHL player. Could be a steal down the road at that number. Refreshing to see the roll the dice a little bit and make a long-term financial commitment to a good young player.
