It’s so I created this plate with the basic coloration of breeding adult males of Iguanas in the genus Iguana. There is a lot of taxonomic confusion in the genus and many undescribed taxa remain within the name Iguana iguana.

AllJurassic taxa (for now) for the evolutionary trees of the 15 Jurassic formations depicted in my in-prep book are ready! All 307 of them. Add these to the 284 Triassic taxa, and that makes 591 species depicted just in this section. I’m tired 😅

August 2019's JOM cover: a new favorite. It comes from a paper by S. Niverty et al. (collaborators from and Xnovo Technology). It is a reconstructed 3D grain map of 23 silicon grains, colored by orientation. Created by diffraction contrast tomography.

Ten years ago I captured this image. I did not know whether it was full of artifacts, or something significant. I simply did not investigate. But Oliver Thie's beautiful SEM-Art inspired me to go back to this image and redraw what I did on my lab notebook while recording.

Indeterminate paravian dinosaur sitting in a rocky outcrop. Another quick pencil sketch (I have been in an analog mood lately 😂) because I did not have time this morning. I have been running errands and catching up on emails all day.
