Education is not about personal advancement - it's a collective good that benefits our whole society. Labour's National Education Service will invest in people so they can flourish and help create a fairer, more equal society.

At the demo yesterday some far right people turned up and hurled statements at us for being lefty teachers and traitors. I don’t find being labelled as a lefty offensive🌹....how wanting to educate children makes us traitors only goes to show they prefer ignorance!😡

Boris Johnson’s press release said: I will reverse the education cuts and boost funding for primary and secondary schools. We don’t want promises on the side of a bus though. We want real money for real children in real schools.

The toxic culture of endless testing in schools must be abolished. We must focus on pupil & teacher well-being. Children face undue levels of stress. Teachers are overworked & feel undervalued. The Govt. must reverse & invest properly in our future generations.

We would replace Ofsted with an inspectorate that looks at cultures of learning, has wellbeing at its heart and drives meaningful, positive change. Enough is enough. We demand better.

Layla Moran is talking to us about the schools funding crisis. I haven’t clapped a single word said.... the party she represents enabled austerity. “Thank you for standing up against these school cuts” she says....Her party played a part in the cuts. End of!
