21 vs 10,000..1897..it was a certain inevitable death but the decision to take a stand inspite of the odds and not show their backs to the enemy marks this 6.5 hrs battle as one of the greatest last stands..Boleeeeeeeeeee sooo nihala..Saaaaaatsriakaaalaaa 🙏🏽

Today is the anniversary of the battle of Saragarhi one of the greatest last man standing actions in military history, when 21 Sikhs held of 10,000 Afghans against odds ,going down to the last man. Tribute and Salute to the valiant soldiers 🙏🇮🇳

On this day, 122 years ago, 21 Sikh soldiers went up against a brutal force of more than 10,000 Afghan tribesmen. The 21 soldier never retreated and the tribesmen did.

All 21 Sikhs chose to defend their army post, instead of choosing to surrender. The UK parliament gave all the brave Sikh soldiers a standing ovation and posthumously awarded them the Indian Order of Merit after. Waheguru Ji ka khalsa 🙏 Waheguru Ji ki Fateh 🙏

1897, 21 Sikh sepoys made the greatest last stand in history, holding a hill fort against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen before being overrun. When news reached London, MPs rose and applauded for the first time ever (a common occurrence in our cheaper age, sadly).

In 1897, at a small outpost called Saragarhi 21 Sikh soldiers stood their ground against an onslaught of 10,000 enemy tribesmen. Their gallantry in fighting to the bitter end cemented their reputation as the bravest of brave soldiers.
