Sadly I agree. It’s why I appreciated the Acceptance and Commitment model. It doesn’t promise symptoms will go away. It helps people anticipate and accept.

My experience is that hx of childhood trauma, current family support and current economics are far more influential than “treatment”. Unpopular but my professional observation.

For sure. But my sister was diagnosed right after her first flashback & she was in treatment from that day on. Yet her only worsened and got to a point where she died by to escape its pain. So, it was never unaddressed in her situation. It was just that bad.

And I think that's what makes so dangerous left unaddressed. There is no "one" solution, but ignoring it or not even recognizing what's happened can be devasting.

I didn't know what I had for some time into my healing from domestic battering. I did not even seek tx. I began a spiritual journey that helped me heal. It took time.

I honestly cannot comment on "religion." My healing and recovery has been a very long journey and yes, that does influence my state of mind - positively. Ahhmmm, speaking as LOL!

I have an old co-worker that says her next attempt will likely be her last and it hurts me so much to hear such things. I’m so sorry for your loss, as always. Keeping you in my thoughts. 💜

I don’t know... my sister was in tx & died in great part bc of her . Maybe some treatments are effective for some people & maybe many treatments are effective for many people, but PTSD can still cause such despair that it can result in attempt or death💔
