Today a primarily Spanish speaking patient struggled to explain why they were in the ED. So I started speaking Spanish and I could tell they were shocked. They were grateful someone could understand them. 🇲🇽

When won, I could physically feel a weight come off my shoulders, as a black person. When became Premier, that same weight got even lighter as a gay person. Seeing as VP candidate, that weight got lighter again.

For years our voices were silenced. In 2018 we made history. Now we're leaving the ladder down for other women to achieve their dreams and make their voices heard. This is just the beginning.

Hear me out on this, might sound crazy but maybe if we work to actually get women in high level roles within organizations (like roles with decision making and hiring responsibilities) we would in turn actually hire more women across the board.

Do u see how the media/a growing number of so called white female progressives are doing their collective best to paint Kamala Harris as everything else but African American/not relatable to the African American experience? The “othering” of a Black Woman?

This is why I'm out as a teacher: "As a queer student, I appreciated your vocalization of being a part of the queer community. Not only is it inspiring to have a professor who is queer, but it makes the classroom feel like a welcoming environment!"

Today I’m hearing things like “My name is Kamala, too, & now everyone will know our name!” And “She looks just like our family!”. This is important folks. Representation matters. Up and down the ballot, leaders should reflect the community’s they serve!
