Was recently made aware of an angry SDN poster singling out my “sad” research efforts 🤷🏽‍♂️ I was heartened to see the many supportive messages in response 🙏🏽 Highly encourage ppl to not just outright dismiss RO SDN Still plenty of kind ppl on SDN & balanced views are 🔑

Lovely . Amputating anything for radiosensitive Merkel cell is almost always the wrong treatment. Merkel cell is a disease. It's a shame no one knows it.

SCORAD trial out in JAMA, best palliative RT for cord or cauda compression — 8Gy/1 vs 20Gy/5. Technically did not meet non-inferiority (p=0.06) but numerically very similar in outcomes. 69.3% vs 72.7% for ambulatory status in 686 pts.

If we're seriously studying potential cure with oligometastatic disease, it's time to remember to account for microscopic disease of metastatic tumors we're targeting. GTV and CTV aren't necessarily the same.

Yet another (but larger) Single vs. Multi Fx study. Despite [barely] lack of non-inferiority in main endpoint (ambulation @ 8 wks), all secondary endpoints not dissimilar, thus not truly eliminating 8 Gy x1 in this pt population (way too many -'s).
