Fire Crew burned 100 piles today in a fuels reduction project located south of Glacier Basin Campground and east of Sprague Lake. Flames and smoke will be visible in the area tonight and the next couple of days. ks

This morning at at both park Headquarters (east) & Kawuneeche Visitor (west): light snow with a dusting on the ground and strong winds blowing the snow sideways. WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS PARKWIDE: 4WD/AWD ADVISED. The worst of the storm is up at higher elevations. ks

It's 22º in the Kawuneeche Valley on the west side of , low clouds, poor visibility. Moderate snowfall, 1-2" new snow. There is 4-5" new snow upvalley at the Colorado River Trailhead. Roads snow-covered: WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS, 4WD/AWD ADVISED. ks
