Donโ€™t be like Matt. Matt lives his life based on a deep-rooted feeling & learned belief that his life as a gay person is less valid & worthwhile than that of a straight person. Be loud. Be proud. Make a scene. Donโ€™t be like . + ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

Just to update you Matt: No straight, heterosexual or cisgender person ever got murdered or beaten up or correctively raped for being straight, heterosexual or cisgender. Hope this helps you understand why , and what its significance is to the movement.

Corporates on Twitter using the rainbow element within their logos to celebrate is it a genuine, wholehearted, no bollocking about commitment or โ€˜a nice to doโ€™? I honestly donโ€™t know.Although I hope so.

The fact am reading people asking why gays need parades is the very reason we need parades. When U come from a persecuted community & a country where being yourself could lead to the death penalty, then come & ask the question. Until this time just bore off

This is one of the most heartfelt pieces of writing I've produced - about one of the toughest things I've ever facilitated. Youth activists - from countries where it is illegal to be themselves - finally found a space of freedom:

my Pride moments would have to be celebrating pride with the team & all my LGBTQ+ family, seeing the diva bus & parade, having the most amazing and life changing time at the womenโ€™s stage! Pride in London was the best day of my life!! ๐ŸŒˆ

I had to explain to someone why thereโ€™s no such thing as โ€˜straight Prideโ€™, today. In 2018. Imagine - just for a moment - being that ignorant, uneducated and lacking in insight. Terrifying, isnโ€™t it?
